Prof. Maciej Kruś , LL.M, PhD

Attorney-at-law

Professor of Law at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and Head of the Department of Administrative Law and Administrative Studies at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.

He is an expert in administrative law matters related to the investment and construction process and environmental protection, including in the areas of natural resource and waste management. He also specialises European administrative law.

In his practice, he advises major national and international companies, as well as local entrepreneurs and individual clients. He also has experience in providing legal assistance to state and local government administration bodies (he was a consultant for work on drafts of new legal regulations).

At Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, he teaches the following subjects: administrative law, construction and investment law, legal aspects of waste management, natural resources law, and European administrative law. In addition, he also lectured on construction and investment law as part of the joint Polish-German legal studies conducted by Adam Mickiewicz University and the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder). His research activities have so far dealt with issues such as the preventive and protective function of construction permits, the argumentative model of the law application when taking into account the results of the environmental impact assessment of projects, the loss of waste status, and transnational administrative acts of European Union law. He participated in research internships at the Humboldt University of Berlin, Christian Albrechts University of Kiel, HafenCity University of Hamburg, and Bucerius Law School in Hamburg.

He completed law and doctoral studies at the Faculty of Law and Administration of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. He obtained his Master's degree in legal sciences based on a comparative thesis describing the institutions of construction permits in Polish and German law. His doctoral degree in legal sciences was awarded based on a dissertation characterising the model of law application when issuing a decision taking into account the results of an environmental impact assessment.

He is also a graduate of the Faculty of Law of the Humboldt University in Berlin, where he obtained an LL.M degree in foreign law based on the thesis on judicial cooperation within the European Union.

He started practising as an attorney-in-law in 2008, after completing his attorney-at-law training at the Poznań Chamber of Attorneys-at-Law.

He provides training in the area of law related to construction investments, environmental protection and real estate.
Maciej Kruś is an author of many academic and popular publications (see a separate tab). He has presented papers at numerous academic conferences and symposia, including international ones. He also conducts workshops for entrepreneurs and speaks at industry conferences.
